The glossary is an ideal assistance for all colleagues who face international employee representation issues: members of European Works Councils, members of supervisory boards, trade union secretaries as well as coordinators of transborder education activities.
The glossary is the result of the close cooperation between German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) West and lingua-eu: for several years qualified employee representatives together with interpreters and translators have been gathering vocabulary which is relevant for international employee relations and repeatedly comes up on the agenda.
The book is deliberately kept concise as it specifically focuses on matters of employee participation and representation. It is by no means a replacement for education in foreign languages or for the translation of complex texts for which general dictionaries continue to be indispensable.
